Not sure if top 6 is really pertinent, but I'll do a top 4.

Dirtbags
T's 13
Ruthless
Damage

Really a toss up between the last two. Just depends on who has the most consistency with guys showing up to league that play on the weekends. lol

Rynos could also end up mixing in there easily.

That is definitely a strong list... I heard a couple months back from a buddy that Complete Easton is trying to get back into MPL, if their work schedule permit. What do you guys think about CE back in the mix?

To me they are a decent enough team, but not a "front runner" if you will. What makes them good is they typically play well together and they just dont care. They never step on the field with anything to prove and that makes them dangerous to a good team who is having an off day. To me though they are straight up talent wise considerably behind the 4 teams I mentioned above and the only way they would beat one of those teams is if that team is just having an off day or weekend. Talent wise though I dont think they match up well with the 4 teams above. Definitely a great group of guys though...they are always fun to be around and play against thats for sure.

The real "sleeper" to me though is going to be Rynos. Picking up Jamie is huge for them as it gives them a solid vet to help lead that team. The young guys they have are extremely talented and once they learn the game they will be that much better. If they let Jamie pitch then that will make them VERY tough as he is one of the more underrated pitchers in this area I think. Personally I think that if he doesnt pitch they are not as big of a threat. Thats the reason I didnt mention them in my list because I dont know how they will use what they got now.

augie gets kicked off dirtbags, which leads to some boat jumping and ruthless losing some guys through out the year. damage to nice to win the big games, to many carebear buddies. i really have no idea who t's has coming back but for what ever reason, they'll still get jacked off and ryno's is not as good day in, day out as the top 3. dirtbags 1st, t's 2nd, damage 3rd. the rest get a thanks for playing. 'Sleeper'

Post  Rynos #00 on Tue Feb 07, 2012 7:34 pm

Jdub4,

We appreciate the 'sleeper' tag. Better to be a 'sleeper' and fail than a pre-season Top 3 and fail I suppose.

I'm not going to argue that picking up Digit isn't a big help for us, as is picking up BBass. Between those 2, we are pretty well set on the bump, and when one isn't pitching, they'll have a spot on the dirt somewhere that makes us better.

Gonna be an interesting year, that's for sure.

Good luck to you boys and we'll see you out there soon I'm sure.

Agreed...some teams are able to fly under the radar better than others. Glad to see yall stepping up out of E finally. Should make it much better with more teams playing where they should be. Still gonna have to travel a bit though.

Sorry...I dont know the pet names for everyone. I know Jamie is good...no idea who BBass is.

Good luck to yall as well. Probably see yall in league I'm sure.

No worries, it's all good.

I must say, I love that 'stepping out of 'E' line. For someone with as much softball knowledge and experience as you, I know you understand that we were an 'E' team on the National level last year. Playing 'D' locally in a tournament that means nothing is not the same as playing where you belong at the end of year in a National tournament.

We chose to play ASA D at the end of the year to do something different last year. We didn't play a lot of tournaments last year b/c that's really not what a majority of our guys wanted to do. We played in a few local U-trip D tournies and took our lumps, but what can you do. We went to ASA D Nationals and lost to 2 U-trip 'C' registered teams. We didnt' have the same talent level they did and they took it to us. Oh well, its softball and life moves forward right.

People can say what they want, as they always do, but the fact that everyone worries so damn much about where teams play and don't play is comical really. Enough guys in Omaha have played softball long enough to understand there's a major difference between playing in a U-trip C National/World versus playing in a U-trip D National/World versus playing in a U-trip E National/World. If the goal of a team is to play in a National and/or World tournament at the end of the year, then let them play that level all year without people bitching about it. It sucks that certain teams like T's/Dirtbags/Damage are all handcuffed locally b/c there arent' enough of those quality teams in town to have a nice tournament once a month here in town, but it is what it is and they are forced to travel to play better competition.

Did Jaime pay you to say all these things about him? His head is big enough the way it is, so please don't feed into that any more than you have. BBass? Bob Bassett. Ask around if you are unsure, a few people have probably heard of him.

Is it April yet?
